Notes
Être (to be) is irregular, so you must memorize it.

- Examples: Je suis étudiant. Nous sommes en classe. Elles sont contentes.
- Questions with inversion: Es-tu prêt ? / Êtes-vous prêts ?
- Do not mix forms: vous êtes (not vous sont); ils sont (not ils est).
- Pronounce the liaison in vous_êtes (voo-zet).
Practice
Complete: « Nous ___ à l'école. »
The nous form of être is sommes.
Complete: « Vous ___ très gentils, les enfants. »
Vous goes with êtes.
