Notes
Use ser for lasting or defining facts about someone or something.
- Description and personality: Ella es inteligente.
- Occupation: Mi padre es médico. (no un before the job)
- Origin and nationality: Somos de Perú. Soy peruano.
- Time and dates: Son las tres. Hoy es lunes.
- Relationships: Él es mi primo.
- What something is made of: La mesa es de madera (wood).
- Where an event takes place: La fiesta es en mi casa.

Which sentence uses ser to tell time?
Es la una y media tells the time.
How do you say "My mother is a doctor"?
Use es and drop the article before an unmodified profession.
Read: "La fiesta de Carlos es el sábado. Es en su casa. Carlos es mi amigo." Where is the party?
Es en su casa = it's at his house, and su refers to Carlos.
