Days and months are not capitalized in French.

- French calendars start the week on lundi.
- Months: janvier, février, mars, avril, mai, juin, juillet, août, septembre, octobre, novembre, décembre.
- Ask: Quel jour sommes-nous ? (What day is it?). Answer: Nous sommes mardi. or C'est mardi.
- Use le + day for a habit: le samedi = on Saturdays. Without le, it is one day: samedi = this Saturday.

Août is August, avril is April, octobre is October, juillet is July.

Le + day names a repeated habit, "on Saturdays".
