- los padres means "parents," not only fathers. Los hermanos can mean brothers and sisters.
- ¿Tienes hermanos? = Do you have siblings? Sí, tengo un hermano y dos hermanas.
- hijo único / hija única = only child.

Los padres = parents.
Clara has no brothers or sisters. What is she?
A girl with no siblings is hija única.
Read: "Me llamo Tomás. Tengo dos hermanas. No tengo hermanos." How many brothers does Tomás have?
No tengo hermanos here means he has no brothers; he has two sisters.
