Spanish 3 / Unit 6: The Imperfect Subjunctive and Si Clauses
6.6 Como Si, Ojalá and Reading Practice
Notes
The imperfect subjunctive also appears with como si (as if) and ojalá when it refers to something unreal or unlikely.
- Habla como si fuera el jefe. (He talks as if he were the boss.)
- Ojalá tuviera más tiempo. (I wish I had more time.) A present-time wish that is not true uses the imperfect subjunctive.
