School vocabulary
- Subjects: les maths, l'histoire, les sciences, l'anglais, l'informatique, l'EPS, la musique.
- Supplies: un cahier, un stylo, un crayon, une gomme, une règle, un sac à dos, une calculatrice, une trousse. Il y a = there is / there are.
Regular -er verbs

- Drop -er and add -e, -es, -e, -ons, -ez, -ent. Je → j' before a vowel.
- Spelling changes in nous: mangeons, commençons.
Negation and questions
- ne ... pas around the verb (n' before a vowel): Je n'aime pas le sport. After a negative, un/une/des → de: Je n'ai pas de stylo.
- Yes/no questions: intonation (Tu parles français ?), Est-ce que, or inversion (Parles-tu français ?). Si answers a negative question with "yes".
- Question words: où, quand, pourquoi, comment, combien, qui, qu'est-ce que. Answer pourquoi with parce que.

Elles takes -ent.
Manger adds e before -ons to keep the soft g.
Ne goes before the verb and pas after it. Regarde begins with r, so ne stays ne.
The question word comes first, then est-ce que, then the statement.
She says je n'aime pas l'histoire.
Ne becomes n' before ai, and des changes to de after a negative.
