Spanish 2 / Unit 6: Direct and Indirect Object Pronouns
6.4 Double Object Pronouns
Notes
When two pronouns appear together, the indirect pronoun comes first, then the direct: I.D.
- Mi mamá me lo da. (indirect me + direct lo)
- Te la mando. Nos los trae.
- Le / les + lo / la / los / las becomes se: Le doy el libro → Se lo doy. (never "le lo")
- The pronouns stay together and go before the conjugated verb.
Practice
Replace both nouns: "Doy el regalo a mi amiga."
Le + lo becomes se lo; regalo is masculine.
"Mi papá me compra la camisa." Replace the noun:
Indirect (me) first, then direct (la for camisa).
¿Tú nos traes los libros? Answer with both pronouns.
The indirect pronoun nos comes first, then los; se only replaces le or les.
